TeachingEph 4:11-14

Empowerment: to give power or authority to; authorize, especially by legal or official means: I empowered my agent to make the deal for me. The local ordinance empowers the board of health to close unsanitary restaurants.
2. to enable or permit: Wealth empowered him to live a comfortable life.

Teaching: It is an art of meeting people where they are and bringing them into a new level of understanding.
What people hear is information, what they understand they believe, what they believe builds their faith.

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Types of teaching/Learning.

1) Auditory – speak clearly and at a reasonable volume( I hear what you mean) Luke 4:21
2) Visual – use gestures that will remind the visual students to remember ( I see what you mean) Romans 11:8
3) Kinesthetics – I feel you

How to prepare to teach.

1) Study every aspect of the material you can find 2 Tim 2:15; Mal 2:7
2) Meditate on what you have studied. Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2
3) Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in delivery Luke 21:15, Luke 12:11-12 John 16:13 Ex 4:12
4) Never read in public what you have never read in private

Characteristics of a good teacher

1) Live what you teach ( to the best of your ability) 1 Tim 4:12-16
2) Don’t try to be an expert without the backing of scriptures. Phil 3:13
3) Engage your students at every level of their learning
4) Must be compassionate about the students 1Thes 2:5,6
